GILGIT: Imran Khan’s statement is a ‘pack of lies’ aims at misleading the public, read a press release issued by chief minister secretariat on Thursday.
The official statement from Sher Jehan Mir came a day after Pakistan Tehrik Insaf [PTI] Chairman Imran Khan had dubbed caretaker chief minister Sher Jehan Mir worker of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz [PML-N]. PTI chairman also said Mir’s appointment would be challenged in the Supreme Court.
Khan spoke about it a day earlier in a press conference in which former lawmakers, Mirza Hussain and Amina Ansari joined PTI, defecting to Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid [PML-Q].
“Imran Khan’s statement is pack of lies and meant to mislead the masses,” Mir said in a press release issued on Thursday to Outpost and other regional media.
“I don’t have political affiliation with any party in the region and that is known to all in G-B including Hussain and Ansari who joined PTI,” said Mir.
Sher Jehan Mir was appointed on 10th December after Mehdi Shah led G-B government completed its tenure. Mir was recommended by then caretaker chief minister leader of opposition for the job.
The caretaker CM said it was evident from Imran Khan press talk that he lacked knowledge about constitutional and geographic status of G-B, adding he should update his knowledge about G-B.
PTI Chairman in his press conference said the appointment of Mir would be challenged in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
