GILGIT: Federal minister for Kashmir Affairs and G-B, Barjees Tahir said work on 40 billion Jaglote-Skardu road project would start soon as the road has been tendered.
The minister, who reached Gilgit to attend Saifur Rehman’s 13th death anniversary, said CEPC would change the fate of G-B just like as it is expected to do in the rest of the country.
He said the huge investment through China Pakistan Economic Project (CPEC) Pakistan would make Pakistan Asian Tiger while GB Pakistan’s tiger.
“This CPEC has special importance in Pakistan’s context,” said Tahir while addressing a mammoth rally also addressed by deputy speaker Jaffarullah, senior minister Akbar Taban, minister works Dr Muhammad Iqbal, senior PML-N leader Ashraf Sada among others.
Saifur Rehman, then adviser education and also brother of Hafeezur Rehman, was shot dead by a militant for advocating sectarian peace in March 2003. He was also first president of PML-N in G-B.
