GILGIT: Shaheed Aman Football Club won the first “Zafar Memorial Tournament”, beating Super Star Kashrote team by 1-0.
The City Park – where the final played – had the highest number of spectators in a match played between two local teams over the years.
The tournament was named after “Zafar” - a famous football player fell victim to target killing last year in Gilgit.
Arif, captain of Shaheed Aman Football Club, scored the only and decisive goal in the first half of match that also featured Pakistan under 19 player Ashfaq ud Din.

Din showed his class in the match enthralling the spectators throughout the match.
Attaullah Shahab, senior JUI-F leader and former advisor to prime minister on G-B, was the chief guest, who distributed the prizes in the end. -- By Umar Butt
