SKARDU [APP]: Gilgit-Baltistan senior minister Akbar Taban said here that G-B government is taking serious steps to establish peace in this area but government could not do it without cooperation of local people and Ulema.
Talking to APP, he said that the provincial government especially Chief Minister Hafeezurrehman is busy in playing very important role for establishment of peace in the region and its development.
He appealed to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan and Ullma of all school of thoughts, scholars, students and political leaders of Gilgit-Baltistan to extend cooperation to government for peace and development of GB. While appreciating the role of Ullmaekaram, he said that Ullma are extending full cooperation for establishment of peace in the area.
He said that “criminals have no religion, being Muslims we all are brothers and Inshallaha soon we will get rid of these criminals and their ugly designs”. He also appealed the students to give their full attention towards their studies as students are future of the country and only well-educated youth can change the present situation of Gilgit-Baltistan, he added. Earlier, Deputy Commissioner (DC) District Skardu Raza Mussa said here that internal situation of the area is fully under control and local administration is also fully alert to handle any kind of unpleasant situation.
“Thanks to Allah till now we have not faced any kind of unpleasant situation in the area”, he added. While answering a question, he said that all the departments are working well in the area. While talking to APP, he told that he had strictly instructed to all the department heads to improve their performance otherwise strict action will be taken against them. About the developmental work in the area, he said that all the developmental works have been stopped due to cold weather and inshallaha this will restart from May 2016.
