GILGIT: The Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Council (GBLA) Tuesday unanimously adopted a resolution appreciating Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for appointing Mir Ghazanfar Ali Khan as G-B Governor. The resolution was moved by Major (retd) Muhammad Amin in the session, which was chaired by GBLA Speaker Fida Muhammad Nashad.
Participating in the discussion on the resolution, GB Minister for Information, Broadcasting and Education Muhammad Ibrahim Sanai said the Prime Minister had appointed such a person as governor who had a clean past record, was impartial and accept-able to all.
He expressed the hope that Mir Ghazanfar would play a pivotal role in the socio-economic development of Gilgit Baltistan (GB). Rizwan Ali said being a neutral and impartial person, Mir Ghazanfar would serve the people of entire GB as governor and not work as a member of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.
Rani Attiqa said Mir Ghazanfar had always served the people of area and would will serve them now too. Deputy Speaker Jafarullah Khan said the services of Mir Ghazanfar were known to the people and his appointment as GB Governor was a good omen for the region.—APP
