GILGIT: At a time when earthquake affected families were passing through hard patch in their lives, Pakistan Red Crescent [PRC] has chipped in with vital assistance.
PRC in this connection provided shelters and winterized tents to more than 160 families hit by earthquake in Phandar and Darel valleys where temperature has almost touched zero degree celsius after snowfall.
“We provided shelters to 45 completely displaced families of Phandarvalley in district Ghizer and provided the same packages to the earthquake victims in Darel valley of district Diamer in the first phase of relief operation,” stated a press release, issued by PRC provincial headquarter Gilgit on Saturday.
Moreover, 70 partially affected families in Darel valley have been provided winterized tents followed by the relief operation.
The earthquake affected families of both the valleys have also been provided blankets, tarpaulin sheets, stoves, kitchen set, water cans and other domestic usage things.
Pakistan Red Crescent has been proactively working in Phandar and Darel valleys since occurrence of devastated earthquake followed by its relief operation and will stand behind the victimized families until their rehabilitation” said PRC Provincial Secretary Noor-ul-Ain while addressing the to the victims at Phandar valley.
She said that the PRC has provided 90 shelters to the homeless in the first phase of its relief operation while rest of the completely displaced families will soon be provided shelters and other relief items.
