GILGIT: Pakistan Red Crescent Society Gilgit-Baltistan has provided relief to 50 families affected by recent floods in village Gaise pain, Diamar district.
According a press release issued by PRCS Provincial Headquarter Gilgit, the relief goods have been provided by Telenor Pakistan were included tents, tarpaulin sheets, blankets, kitchen sets, hygiene kits, water cans, oil stoves and other domestic usage things.
PRCS GB Chairman Muhammad Wali, Provincial Secretary Noor-ul-Ain and officials from PRCS and Telenor Pakistan were also presented on the occasion of relief distribution point.
Meanwhile, PRCS organized a three day free medical camp in village Gass Pain where more than 1200 patients have been checked up and provided free medicines to them. The medical camp was also supported by Telenor Pakistan, the press release read.
Speaking at occasions, PRCS Chairman Muhammad Wali said that the PRCS is a leading humanitarian organization of the country which plays its role as an auxiliary to the government in humanitarian services but it is not an NGO.
He said that Diamar is one of the most vulnerable districts of Gilgit-Baltistan hence for PRCS focuses to provide its all possible assistance to the affectees of natural disasters and health facilities to the vulnerable communities.
Earlier, the PRCS has also provided relief to the recent flood affectees in Baltistan division, district Ghizer and Gilgit.
