GILGIT: Awais Ali Khan has been elected as Leader of House in Pildat's Youth Parliament Pakistan, in session of 2015.
Khan belongs to Gilgit, capital of Gilgit – Baltistan region. He is currently studying in University of Engineering and Technology Lahore.
Previously he has been a distinct student of Cadet College Skardu and Government College University Lahore.
Khan has acted as joint secretary of Debating Society UET Lahore. He has also worked as Chief Coordinator of leading youth forum Young Reformers G-B. From amongst the competitive youngsters coming from all across Pakistan, Awais is first ever student to be elected as leader, not only from G-B but also from UET, Lahore.
Pildat's decade long initiative is to train youngsters about parliamentary proceedings and enhance understanding of democracy. As a matter of fact G-B's marginalized community has long story of non-representation in parliament. But event's like the ones, happening in Youth Parliament, have set precedents for political maturity.
