GILGIT - Inspector Genral of Gilgit-Baltistan police Zafer Iqbal Awan on Monday made an undercover visit to inspect the security arrangements of Chinese camps and passengers travelling in KKH from Gilgit to Thore.
The IGP inspected the security arrangements undertaken at the Chinese camps and checked methods of checking at the police check post registering foreigners. The police chief also inspected the turnout and discipline of the securitypersonnel deputed for executing the tasks besides ensuring implementation of directives made at the central police office (CPO) earlier.
In his visit, IGP had also monitored the electioneering activities in different locations on the KKH from Gilgit to Thore, Diamer. During his surprise visit, he took series note of the unsatisfactory performance of some security personnel and warned them to enhance their performance.
The police chief also announced a cash award along with commendation certificates for the personnel deputed on the Thalichi foreigners’ registration check post for their extraordinary performance.
The SP Abdur Rahim also accompanied the police chief on the unscheduled visit. - PR
