GILGIT: Pakistan peoples Party [PPP] believes in empowerment of women and has undertaken various measures to ensure their proactive role in the nation building.
This was stated by Sadia Danish, former information minister and senior leader of PPP, while speaking to reporters in her residence on Wednesday.
She said credit goes to PPP for making a woman prime minister first time in history of Pakistan and also speaker of an Islamic State.
She lamented women have been ignored by other parties in Gilgit-Baltistan [G-B] while PPP encourages them to take part in the politics. “PPP has a large number of women workers in the region,” she said.
She said womenfolk in Gilgit-Baltistan are die hard supporter of the PPP just because of its friendly policies.
The former minister enumerated steps taken for betterment of women and vowed to do more so that women could be brought at par with men.
She said women deserve equal role in the society and this would be ensured by her party.
Sadia stated that PPP is determined to provide female residents a platform enabling them to exhibit their talent and work side by side men.
